Dill

Dill was opened in 2009 by Chef Gunnar Karl Gislason and Sommelier Ólafur Örn Ólafsson. It then became noted among the Michelin Guide and has won various international awards. The place is really unique, with a fabulous ‘old world’ style interior.

Serving creative Nordic cuisine, Dill source local seasonal ingredients such as succulent lamb and millet. There's also a delicious signature seven-course dinner menu which changes each week. Although there are also three and five-course tasting options on the dinner menu. All the dishes are paired with natural wines, to create a perfect dining experience.

Apótek is a more European restaurant and a fabulous choice. The word Apótek actually means ‘pharmacy, and the menu reflects this by naming cocktails as painkillers and stimulants! The restaurant used to be a pharmacy from 1930-1999, hence the chosen name.

The restaurant offers mouth-watering food in a great atmosphere and surroundings. The menu is a fun mix of European and Icelandic cuisine. Do ensure you have a pastry dessert; they will just melt in your mouth. The pastry chef at Apótek has actually been awarded by the queen of Denmark!

Fiskmarkaðurinn

The name of this restaurant means ‘fish market’, and that is exactly what you will enjoy. Head chef Hrefna Rósa Sætran has created an amazing tasting menu of various fish dishes.

Both the starters and main courses include a selection of perennial delights, such as lobster soup and pan-fried Atlantic catfish. You can also indulge in more sophisticated dishes, like Robata grilled minke whale or smoked, grilled puffin breast with blueberries.
