If you’re a fan of Scottish whisky, then our Highlands drink experiences are just thing for you! What’s more, brewery and distillery tours often come with personal transport, collecting you from a central location or your accommodation. As such, there’s no need for a designated driver, you can simply sit back and enjoy the scenery.

After all, Highlands drink experiences aren’t just about sampling a “wee dram”. In fact, they go beyond your regular whisky and wine tasting. The Highlands themselves deliver some of the most dramatic scenery in the UK, attracting 1000’s of tourists to Scotland throughout the year.

Some of the best times to visit the Highlands are for Hogmanay (31st December, New Year’s Eve) or during Burns Night (25th January). Although, be warned it can get very cold throughout the winter, but it’s a time the mountainous terrain can look at its most stunning.

The Highlands Drink Experiences

Our brewery and distillery tours in the Highlands will take you on a tasting journey of some of Scotland’s most famous whisky. However, as you’ll see below, some of our drink experiences cover much more. Including bespoke gins, locally brewed beer and combination tours visiting some of the most popular tourist attractions in the region.

Speyside Whisky Private Tour

We start our list covering the Speyside area, where you’ll find classic distilleries such as Macallan, Glenfiddich and Glen Moray. As such, while the exact itinerary may be subject to change throughout the year, the possibilities are almost endless.

Private Whisky Tasting Tour and Castle Visit

Taking place in the Highlands just north of Inverness, distilleries include tastings at Glenord, Dalmore, Glenmorangie, Clynelish and Balblair. There’s also time to stop of and admire the grounds of the beautiful Dunrobin Castle, along with a falconry display!

Invergordon Cruise Ship Whisky Excursion

This whisky tour in the Highlands is specifically aimed at travellers arriving into the port of Invergordon. Allowing you visitors to explore the surrounding area in the comfort of their chauffer-driven, private transport. Distilleries include: Glenord, Clynelish, Balbair and Dalmore.

Gin and Gentry

Stepping away from the world of Scottish whisky, the next of our drink experiences in the Highlands features another popular tipple. The tour starts with an introduction to the history of gin and the art of distilling, as well as a gin tasting session. However, the tour doesn’t end there, as you’re also invited to lunch as well as time to explore Crathes Castle.

Private Tour with Fishing, Beer and Whisky

Having been collected from your accommodation in Inverness or Aviemore, you’ll be taken on a scenic drive into the Cairngorms National Park. Here guests will enjoy a 3-hours fly fishing, followed by an optional tour of Cairngorm Brewery. Although don’t worry if you’re not an experienced fisherman, as lessons are available by pre-arrangement. After which, there should still be time for a well-deserved tour of the Tomatin Distillery.
