As well as finding the best pubs and bars, a craft beer tour in Bristol is always a fantastic way to understand the process involved. After all, with a rise in micro-breweries in recent years, the craft beer industry has grown significantly.

Many breweries have become a lot more creative than simply producing a traditional ale. With innovative craft-brewers producing everything from chocolate-stouts and coffee porters to strawberry ice cream IPA's.

The History of Craft Beer

It's often believed craft beer originated during the 1970s, within breweries on the West Coast of America. As they set about experimenting with the fermentation process. In order to produce something different from standard European beers.

Hence, the microbrewery was born - with innovative techniques that made strong and punchy brews. The idea spread and new brewing techniques and experimental ideas quickly reached Europe.

As a result, the likes of a brewery tour or craft beer tour in Bristol will give you a much more in-depth overview of the industry.  During which you can join a drink experience sampling a variety of different beers to suit your taste-buds.
