Itinerary

You will depart from Rome at 7:50am approx on a 1h30m journey by fast speed train to Florence. Once in Florence come directly to the meeting point, just 20 minutes walk from the train station where you will meet our guide who will take you to an exciting trip to Tuscany. The tour departs from Florence at 9:45 am.

First stop will be at a WINERY AND TUSCANY WINE TASTING SCHOOL where you will taste 4 different type of wines including the famous Chianti Classico, Brunello of Montalcino, Super Tuscan wines, a 30 year-old balsamic vinegar and the delicious truffle extra virgin olive oil. Here you will learn how to recognize the different flavours and develop your taste buds with a passionate wine producer. Don’t worry this is not a real school where you have to take notes and be tested at the end so only fun is guaranteed.

The second stop will be at a second LOCAL WINERY located in a stunning area well known for the production of the D.O.C.G. Vernaccia white wine facing the famous towers of San Gimignano. The wine makers will guide you through the vineyards and the cellars and they will share the secrets of the wine and oil production as well as the best wine and food combinations. At the winery you will enjoy 3 wines; the famous Vernaccia white wine, a rosè wine and a Chianti colli senesi D.O.C.G. You will also have the opportunity to buy the local products and wine at a great price to bring back home or ship to friends and family.

In the afternoon you will be free to visit and spend time wandering through the narrow streets shopping in the local stores of the most beautiful medieval town of Tuscany, SAN GIMIGNANO and check out the tower filled skyline while eating the ice cream from a world-champion gelateria. Maps will be provided from your tour leader and tips about the best places to visit in the town.

We will arrive back to Florence at approx 5:00pm** – Back to Rome by 7:30pm**

If you wish to stay longer in Florence, ask our team to organize a later train for you. You can also combine the tour with our Florence by night orientation walk.

The meeting point is 20 minutes walk from the train station S.M.N. in Florence or easy to reach by local bus ( n.11 – n.36 – n.37) or by taxi

Notes

You won’t meet one of our team in Rome but you will travel by train independently from Rome to Florence and back ( tickets included ). You will meet us directly in Florence at the tour departure point.

Full details of the train tickets will be sent by email to the customers a few days before the tour. On the ticket you will find the train number and seat assigned.

Depending on the day selected the tour is either run by big bus or private van.

Do you wish to stay longer in Florence? If you wish to take a later train back to Rome and stay longer in Florence after the trip , it is possible. Just make sure you to inform our team at the moment of the booking.
