What you'll do
First meet your guide at lobby of your hotel. Departure for a Small Carpathian Wine Tour. Small Carpathian region is a winegrowing region located on the south-eastern slopes of Small Carpathians. It is one of the eight winegrowing regions of Slovakia. Besides Slovakian part of Tokaj region it is the most important one. Red Stone Castle Afterwards arrive at the Red Stone Castle, one of the most romantic castle of Slovakia. The castle boasts by vast cellars which were once used as warehouses for copper. Actually they are the biggest cellars in Central Europe. To enter the castle, you can pay an additional fee. Or you can just admire the castle & castle courtyard from outdoors. Modra Continue towards the historical town of Modra. Modra is famous for being the birthplace of Slovakian national hero Ludovit Stur, who fought for the autonomy of Slovakia in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Stur also had a significant influence on the revival of the Slovak language. Indeed he introduced the Slovak language standard. Learn more about his importance in Slovak history as you wander around the medieval town center. Pezinok Next stop is Pezinok, the capital city of Slovak wine production. Enjoy a walking tour in the historical city center of Pezinok with the option of entering the Majolica Pottery Factory. Continue towards the small town of Svaty Jur. Sightseeing of beautiful city center. Finally, visit a local winery and see the traditional production of local wine. It is a wine free from colorants or additives, by local winemakers. Sample this local fine wine with a small snack before returning to Bratislava at approximately 18:00 PM.
Itinerary
- 1Pick up from your address in Bratislava. Transfer to Small Carpathian Wine Road, the most important wine-growing region of Slovakia. Arrival at lovely Red Stone Castle, possible entrance to the castlo, or admiration of the castle from it´s outdoors. The castle boasts by the biggest cellars in Central Europe. Continue to a small town Modra. The town is famous thanks to it´s vineyards & wine, but also a a birthplace of Slovak national hero Ludovit Stur, who fought for an autonomy of Slovakia within Austro - Hungarian Empire. In Modra is also possible visit a manufacture of traditional local pottery - Majolika. Continue to the capital city of Slovak wine production Pezinok. Sightseeing of the historical city center. Continue to small town Svaty Jur, little stroll along the beautiful city center. Wine tasting of local fine wine at small winery. The tasted wine is from a small local winemaker, made by traditional way without adding any chemicals. Return back to Bratislava.
