What you’ll do

Get off the beaten track and explore the Food Valley of Italy on this 6 hour food tour. Meeting your guide on-site at 9 AM, you’ll tour a Parmigiano-Reggiano factory as well as a producer of traditional balsamic vinegar. Tastings are included at both sites, plus you can sample Lambrusco and other locally-produced organic wines. After the tours and tastings, you get to indulge in a traditional Emilian lunch prepared with typical local produce.

Cheese Factory Visit: Tour an authentic producer of Parmigiano-Reggiano and discover more about the history of this world-famous cheese, with a tasting included during your visit

Balsamic Vinegar Producer: Visit a producer of traditional balsamic vinegar in a beautiful hillside area and learn about how the product is made. A tasting is included too.

Try Organic Wine: The balsamic vinegar producer is also a wine maker, and you’ll have the chance to sample their Lambrusco and other organic wines accompanied by snacks

Emilian Lunch: Enjoy an authentic Emilian 3-course lunch with cured meats, pasta, and homemade cake, served with wine

Meeting Point

Hotel pick-up is available upon request, alternatively for the self-drive option meet your guide on location at the Parmigiano-Reggiano factory.

Kindly reach your meeting point 10-15 minutes before departure time.

Notes

The programme may undergo minor changes in the timings.

If you add the car+driver supplement from a specific town, you will be picked up at your hotel downtown. If you're staying out of town, you may be asked to pay a further supplement.

If you choose the car+driver supplement, the guide will decide whether to join you on board or drive in their own car. If you self-drive, the guide drives their own car in front of you and you follow according to the itinerary.

Lunch can be arranged at a local restaurant, the Parma ham producer, or an agriturismo, depending on availability.

Being artisanal and not industrial products, the working cycle is not repeated every day at the same time. It is not guaranteed to see craftsmen at work at each site.

Our drivers are not driver-guides - this kind of professional profile is forbidden by Italian law.

No cancellation fee up to 8 days before the tour, 50% refund from 7 to 3 days before the tour. 30% refund if cancelling with 48 hours’ notice and no refund if cancelling with 24 hours’ notice.
