What you’ll do

Hermanus is regarded by WWF and Greenpeace as being one of the world's best locations to watch Whales, it holds famous Whale Festivals between the months of June to end of November every year which attracts plenty eager Whale watchers. Southern Right Whales, Humpbacks and Bryde Whales are spotted, with the highest number of 196 Whales ever being viewed in just ONE day. (Whale watching season is from early June to late November each year.) Penguins, Cape Fur Seals and Sea-birds are also viewed, with occasionally pods of Dolphin (we have 3 local species). Boat trips are also an option which will take you out to sea to meet them up close. To conclude the day, enjoy some specialty wines at Benguela Cove with unmatched natural beauty and views. We look forward to hosting you!
Itinerary
1
Your tour guide will meet you at your accommodation at your selected pick up time.
2
Here's where you and your guide will stop for close up land-based whale watching before your optional boat-based whale watching at your next stop.
3
After a quick breakfast, we’ll transport you to the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. It will not take much for you to understand why it’s called the “Heaven-and-Earth” Valley. The fertile soil and unique climate have transformed the area into a wine cornucopia. A visit to Creation Wines will please your appetite and afford you incredible images.
4
Your first stop will be in Hermanus. A small town just outside of Cape Town. Hermanus is the whale watching hub of South Africa. Your boat trip will start at 9am (the early bird catching the worm, or the whale in this case). The boat trip will be 2 hours long on a luxury charter. Boat trips allow you to witness these majestic beings close up. Land spotting doesn't always guarantee you any whale sighting, which is why we recommend the boat trip.
5
This lovely garden is situated in the centre of the coastal fynbos where the flora is at its richest. It encompasses mountain slopes with wind-clipped heathlands, deep gorges with relict forests, flats and marshes with restios, sedges and bulbs, as well as dunes adjacent to the beach with specialised salt-adapted plants. The Garden is renowned for its waterfalls and amber pools.
6
Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate is a low yield farm, focused on producing premium estate wines.
7
There is so much to see and do when you visit Benguela Cove. With attractions for guests of all ages to enjoy.
8
We have the longest stretch of ocean facing vineyards (2.7km) grown at the lowest altitude above sea level (3m).
9
Our winery is the largest wine producer in the cool-climate Walker Bay region.
10
Situated in the Western Cape Winelands between Hermanus and Cape Town.
11
As the tour concludes, your guide will drop you back at your location. If you need to be back at a specific time, please let your guide know in advance.
