What you’ll do

Rome is famous for its history, its monuments and churches and the delicious culinary culture! On this highlights and food tasting tour you will follow your guide in a journey through typical products and recipes and some historical sites of the city center. You will hear the history of some historic districts, such as Prati and Borgo, and sample some freshly made pizza, cheeses and seasonal fruits. Walk through the many colorful stands of the Trionfale Market, one of the largest covered markets in Europe. Here you will meet local agricultural producers, drink some amazing wines of the region and taste some authentic Roman delicacies, such as supplì, small fried risotto balls, cured meat and pastries. This tour will be a great chance to discover some of the central neighborhoods of Rome thanks to the descriptions and the commentaries of your local expert guide and to learn about a long and interesting culinary tradition through some tasty food samplings.
Itinerary

Walk through one of the largest farmers markets of Europe and try some delicious typical Roman products.

You will see the elegant district of Prati, with its buildings, high-class restaurants and interesting monuments.

Borgo is an historic neighborhood of Rome, between the river Tiber and the Vatican, where you can see Castel Sant'Angelo and Vittorio Emanuele II bridge.

Lear about the walls that surround the Vatican City and see Porta Sant'Anna and Porta Angelica, the access for the pilgrims arriving in Rome.

It is an 800-meters long passage built by Pope Nicholas III in 1277 that links the Vatican with Castel Sant'Angelo, that was used as an escape route for popes in danger.

The tour will end in St. Peter's square in front of St. Peter's Basilica
