What you’ll do

Constantia is known as South Africa's oldest wine-producing region, with a rich viticultural heritage extending back to the 17th century. Its unique microclimate, influenced by the adjacent coast and spectacular mountains, produces ideal circumstances for producing world-class wines with distinct characteristics. Constantia is popular among visitors to Cape Town because of its gorgeous setting, luscious vineyards, and award-winning estates, each with its own unique tale to tell. From the historic Groot Constantia, with its Cape Dutch architecture and expansive grounds, to the tiny wineries making unique blends, there's something for every taste. Booking a wine tasting tour in Constantia promises more than just enjoying beautiful wines; it's an opportunity to delve into the region's rich heritage, wander through scenic landscapes, and indulge.
Itinerary
1
One of the world's seven most beautiful botanical gardens, located on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, has gained considerable praise for its excellent excellence. The 528-hectare estate has both a wildlife reserve and a planted garden. The constructed garden features many rare and endangered kinds of southern African flora. Visitors can also enjoy the park's cafes, nursery, gift shop, bookstore, and a permanent exhibition of Zimbabwean stone sculptures.
2
The old Groot Constantia wine vineyard is next on our schedule. Groot Constantia has been South Africa's oldest wine-producing farm since 1685, and it has continued to produce wine even after changing ownership.
3
The farm produces cultivars that are 70% red and 30% white. We recommend a delicious supper at Jonkershuis Restaurant or Simon's Restaurant, both located on this gorgeous wine estate. • Admission: one hour. Not included in the ticket 4 Winery Constantia Glen. We begin our Simon van der Stel wine tour at the Buitenverwachting wine estate, which translates to "beyond expectations." Simon van der Stel discovered the first Constantia farm, which had this component. They repaired the farm's original buildings and chronicled the estate's history, despite the change of ownership. The farm produces 90% White, 2% Red, and 8% Red types.

There is no definitive optimal time to visit Signal Hill. It is constantly open, but one must consider the weather. The best times to visit are when the weather is clear or around sunset. Signal Hill provides family-friendly picnic places throughout the year that are popular with both visitors and residents. Signal Hill is a popular sundowner destination, similar to "lovers lane," attracting hundreds of travelers and locals each year to enjoy the spectacular view of the sunset over the Atlantic.
