What you’ll do

Itinerary

Syntagma is the central square of Athens. The square is named after the Constitution that Otto, the first King of Greece, was obliged to grant after a popular and military uprising on 3 September 1843. It is located in front of the 19th century Old Royal Palace, housing the Greek Parliament since 1934. Syntagma Square is the most important square of modern Athens from both a historical and social point of view, at the heart of commercial activity and Greek politics.

The Central Market (also called Varvakios Agora) is located between Monastiraki and Omonoia Square and is a must see if you like to explore the Greek culture and food

The structure was built at the end of the 19th century and is open daily from early in the morning till late.The traditional food market in center of Athens, fresh fish, meet and vegetables full of local taste , colors and smell

Evripidou Street, full of secret treasures and distinctive scents that comes from the mix of foods and spices wafting from the open-fronted stores. Evripidou Street runs through an area of central Athens where clocks and calendars seem to stand still, where different races and cultures mix with old Athens.

We are doing our tours only to small groups with a maximum capacity of 10 people. Minimum 2 pax are required for the tour to be conducted.

Some of the markets and vendors that we visit close after lunchtime, so the walk can only occur in the morning

Please advise in advance if vegetarian options are required. The tour is vegetarian-friendly as vegetarians have options in every spot. However, there are limited choices for other dietary restrictions such as gluten-free or dairy-free. Severe allergies cannot, unfortunately, be catered for on this tour.

There will be plenty of food on the tour, so you only need a light breakfast
