Have fun with us on our Food and Wine tours with local and expert guides!
2
This small, charming square is the meeting point for the Ghetto Tour. Meet your guide in front of the turtles fountain, as soon as the whole group is here, an expert tour leader will give you a brief information about the tour and will lead you towards some of the best places where to enjoy local food and to see amazing historical spots.
3
Learn with your expert guide about the centuries where this area was very different from the way we see it today. Admire the new synagogue and some of the ruins related to the ancient roman history, such as the Portico di Ottavia and the Teatro Marcello. Try the most famous roman street food, best known specialties of the Jewish cuisine, the so called "carciofo alla giudìa". This place offers a mixture between the Imperial Era and the modern times that will enchant you!
4
As soon as you leave the Ghetto, you guide will walk towards the Parione district, towards Campo de' Fiori. You will pass by one of the best known bakeries of Rome, where you will be served a very nice Pizza Margherita accompanied by a light beer, as Italians would do! Learn the difference from the Roman and Neapolitan pizza. A very nice street will lead you to Campo de' Fiori: this square used to be very famous in the past as a place for executions. Philosophers and heretics have lost their lives here, just because their ideals were different from the ones of the period when they lived. Close by, you will taste high-quality selection of cured meat and cheese, accompanied with a glass of Italian wine.
5
Afterwards, together with your guide, you will discover where the ruins of the Teatro di Pompeo are hidden, and you will enjoy some typical courses from Roman cuisine among the ruin of this ancient theater: tradicional pasta and wine will be the key words of this stop!
6
It's time for dessert! While going to Piazza Navona, you will stop by one of the best Tiramisù places of Rome. Different flavours for different tastes! Afterwards, you will learn something about Navona Square, its Barroque buildings and sculptures - made by two of the major artists of the 1600 in Italy, Bernini and Borromini - and some secrets related to the way this area was used in the past.
7
Learn about this famous square and enjoy an Italian espresso in the nicest Roman caffetteria! Sant'Eustachio is both the name of this place, open from the 1938, and the name of their coffee. The last food stop also includes a delicious gelato, produced in loco with organic products and a lot of passion!
8
This is where the tour will end. The last food stop includes a delicious gelato, produced in loco with organic products and a lot of passion! At this historical spot, this is the place where Julius Caesar was killed (according to historians). These ruins, excavated under Mussolini, are in some ways still related to the Roman history, thanks to a mysterious legend. Some people are convinced that Julius still wanders here... Do you believe it?
