From Barcelona: 8 Day trip to the Mediterranean Cuisine

What you’ll do

Enjoy an 8 day walking tour near the Priorat wine region that focusses on Mediterranean cuisine made from local produce alongside incredible scenery. The tour includes your day of arrival, followed by 6 days led by a local guide and an overnight stay before departure. During a day out at Montblanc, there is an opportunity to visit the Mas Foraster winery to taste wine made from the “trepat” wine variety. Half-board accommodation includes 3 picnics and 2 homemade lunches.

Itinerary

Meeting Point: Vilaverd rural hotel - or transfers from Barcelona and Reus airport are also available upon request

Day 1: Arrive at the hotel, free time to settle into your accommodation. Half board included + picnic lunch for the following day.

Day 2: Walking to the Prades mountain range - Full day walking through the mountains. Half board included + great lunch at the accommodation for the following day.

Day 3: Views over the Brugent Valley - Gentle walk to Rojals village, with amazing views overlooking the valley and surrounding vineyards. Half board included + picnic lunch for the following day

Day 4: Deep into Prades Mountains - Walk to the village of Cogullons and summit of Mola d’Estats along with the medieval village of Farena and a hidden ice well in the forest. Half board included + great lunch at the accommodation for the following day + traditional herbs workshop

Day 5: The Mediterranean Aromas - Relaxing day learning about locally sourced herbs at Aroma Park learning about the traditional techniques used. Lunch will be made featuring the herbs gathered. Half board included + picnic lunch for the following day

Day 6: Deep into the Brugent River - Walking tour to the Brugent River, with natural vegetation responsible for producing paper in Catalonia during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Day 7: Village of Montblanc - Follow the path that connects Vilaverd with Montblanc. Visit the winery Mas Foraster and taste the surprising wine made of the autochthonous wine variety called “trepat”. Half board included.

Day 8: Departure by Train - Return to Barcelone via train or private transfers can be arranged upon request.
