What you’ll do

Head to Pile Gate, one of the three historical entrances to the walled Old Town of Dubrovnik, where you'll meet your local foodie guide to start this exciting and delicious 4-hour food-accented tour of this southern Dalmatian gem. Walk down the limestone-blanketed Stradun, the widest street in the Old Town and its main promenade, where the guide will point out some of the chief historical landmarks -- from the 14th-century Franciscan monastery and its incredible Gothic courtyard, to the Rector's Palace to the cathedral.  In between the sightseeing, pop into a local wine bar for a glass of locally produced vino and learn about the characteristics of Dalmatian wine. Sample three different types of wine, all of which is paired with regional edible delights, such as prosciutto and local cheese.  After a bit more strolling and sightseeing, head into a local eatery and tuck into a three-course meal. Choose between fish or meat and indulge local dishes that could include grilled squid or chicken breast served with spinach risotto.  When the meal is finished, walk back to the original starting point for the end of the tour.

As you stroll along this elegant main street, listen to your guide share fascinating insights into Croatian cuisine, and pick up a tantalizing ice cream from a street vendor.

Wandering along the labyrinthine streets, see the Franciscan Monastery, which contains a 14th-century cloister. See the restored sculpture, Michelangelo’s La Pietà, and pass by the Rector’s Palace, the impressive Orlando’s Column and other top sights.

Along the way, stop in at a popular wine bar, where you’ll sample local wine during a guided wine tasting. With an expert leading the session, savor three different varietals, paired with regional specialties such as prosciutto ham and locally produced cheese, and learn how to identify the varying aromas and ingredients.
