What you’ll do

Make your way to a departure point on the Danube River in Budapest, where you’ll board a cruise boat and kick off the evening with a welcome drink, with the option for a Champagne toast. As the boat pulls into the gentle current, find a comfortable seat to listen to the boat’s two pianists start the evening’s show. Throughout the cruise, you’ll see the Budapest river banks sparkle, as the city’s historic monuments are illuminated after dark. The 4-course meal varies with the freshest available ingredients, but a sample menu starts with a basket of savory appetizers and a pumpkin cream soup topped with roasted pumpkin seeds. Main course options include sablefish in hollandaise alongside a vegetable lasagna, a confit of duck leg with white cabbage and potatoes, or beef stew served atop polenta. Dessert is a tender sponge cake, and special Christmas sweets will be available during the evening, including the Szamos marzipan dessert and seasonal candy. After a leisure dinner on the water, this Danube River cruise concludes at the original departure point.
