What you’ll do

“Bertie and Aby will show you the spirit and diversity of Argentina with small production wines and delicious regional food pairings” We are Bertie and Aby - an English sommelier and an Argentine chef. In 2016 we started Wine Discovery. Our tastings are focused around wine, food and good company, all shared around a big table - the Argentine way! Aby has been cooking traditional Argentine food every since she was a child, helping at (big) family gatherings and Bertie has worked as a sommelier since 2008. Together we want to share our knowledge and passion for Argentina’s wine, cuisine and culture! Our experience is designed to be enjoyed by everyone - whether you are just mildly interested in wine or an expert, our wine tastings are a fun and relaxed affair! Enjoy great food, generous pours and good company! Cheers!

The wine tasting was fantastic and a brilliant activity to introduce us to Buenos Aires on our first day. Bertie and Aby were fantastic hosts and great company. The wine pairings with the amazing food were all unique. We learned a lot on this tasting and couldn't recommend it enough, thank you!

This was one of the highlights of our three weeks in Argentina. We did both the Wine and Tapas class and the Empanada class. Both were exceptional and the wine and food were fantastic. The Empanada were by far the best we had on our trip. Bert and Abby are friendly and made the class not just fun but culturally enriching as well. We Highly recommend it to any one visiting Buenos Aires.

If you are looking for a different experience in wine tasting this place is for you. Aby, Bertie and Bonny (the dog) created a unique experience with wines and food pairings. They took the time to explained the different wines and food from the regions. They are very friendly. I highly recommend this wonderful experience.

If I could give more then 5 stars, I would, Bertie & Aby are absolutely amazing, this was the second time I was there. They love what they do Bertie is amazing at explaining the regions and the wine. Aby is a wonderful chef she prepares delicious dishes from the same region. The experience is SPECTACULAR, highly recommend it’s a great way to spend an afternoon & try a variety of smaller wineries. I’m sure we will be back again,sorry I didn’t get pictures of the food.

I loved it so much that I went back on another trip to Buenos Aires. Bertie and Aby (and Bonnie) are absolutely wonderful and so knowledgeable. The food and wine pairings are perfect and all so delicious. I love that they source from wineries all over the country, allowing us to take a wide variety of wines.

Enjoying the Airbnb experience entitled "The Secret Wines of Argentina" was a delightful way to fill our last day of a two+-week trip to Buenos Aires and Patagonia! Bertie explained the wine regions--using a helpful map placed on the table for each couple--of the wines being tasted, and Aby discussed her accompanying dishes per region, ingredient, tradition, etc. They both were very knowledgeable, engaging, and solicitous, making for a memorable afternoon. I greatly recommend Bertie and Aby's lovely experience!

Loved trying unfamiliar wines and understanding about of the history and origin across Argentina. The wines were reasonably priced and we feel that we were able to bring home something special and unique to share with family and friends.

That was an amazing experience! I learned a lot a bout the wine just as well as about local tapas. Bertie talked in english and spanish and provided us with a ton of interesting facts and info about Argentinian wines. The tapas were very delicious! Aby also explained a lot about some local cuisine pecularities. Definetely the place I would recommend!

This was the best part of my trip to Buenos Aires. I can’t recommend this enough. Bring a few friends and let Bertie and Aby take you on a tour of the country without ever leaving your seat. Also roll wave.
