Private 10-hour wine tour from Florence with tasting sessions and guided tour of 3 historical castles in the heart of the Chianti wine region. Your private tour in the Chianti wine region includes hotel pick-up at 9 AM and returns to your Florence accommodation at approximately 7 PM. The tour visits 3 castle-based wineries (Monsanto, Volpaia and Ama), each one bringing its own distinct characteristics to the world of Tuscan wine. A gourmet lunch will be served at the Volpaia winery, focussing on local produce as you enjoy your meal surrounded by 11th-century opulence.

Meeting Point: Hotel pick-up and drop-off

1st Winery - Montsanto: Now transformed into a renowned winery in the Chianti wine region, the tour includes remnants of the old castle along with its vineyards and underground wine cellars. At the end of your guided tour, there will be a tasting of 4 exceptional wines.

2nd Winery - Volpaia: Within the walls of a mediaeval fortified village, your 2nd castle-winery visit dates back to the 11th century. Enjoy a wine-tasting session in the comfort of a dedicated wine room as well as an extravagant gourmet lunch.

3rd Winery - Ama: Not only is the last stop an intriguing piece of local history but Ama Castle has also played a significant role in the modern revival of Chianti Classico wines. Tour the Estate, its vinification plant and ageing cellars before concluding with a private tasting session.

Lunch: While visiting Volpaia there will be a break in the itinerary to indulge in a gourmet lunch deemed "fit for a king", while showcasing the very best in locally sourced produce.

Drop-off: Following a day filled with historical castles and fine wine, your transport shall return you to the comfort of your accommodation in Florence.

End Time: Approximately 7 PM
