Once back at our cooking school—the best-equipped in San Sebastián—you’ll prepare dishes using the highest quality seasonal products. This class is ideal for understanding the tradition of Basque cuisine, which is essential for mastering more modern techniques. And because the nature of seasonal products changes so much, every class is different, allowing you to repeat this experience many times without it ever being the same.

Our class with Patricio was the most fun cooking class I have ever taken. We started with a wonderful shopping expedition at the market. He bought us delicacies to try along the way (meats, cheese) and explained the matriarchal way markets are run. At the fish market I said, “Oh, I love razor clams!” He said, “Well, let’s buy some.” The cooking experience was fantastic! We learned not only how to cook, but also why certain foods are cooked in certain ways. Everyone (there were 10 of us) got to help out. And the food was absolutely amazing. The wine and conversation flowed and Patricio was an entertaining and patient teacher. A perfect way to spend a few hours in San Sebastian.
If you make the trip to San Sabastian, it's obvious that you have an interest in good food. You must attend (at least) one of the classes offered at Mimo. It was a truly fantastic experience for my wife and I. Going to the market to select our food and understanding more about the seasonality of the ingredients and even how to interact with the various merchants when they talked about their food was so much fun. The chefs are extremely personable and very attentive. I look forward to returning during the fall season and will definitely do this again. It was a highlight of our experience in San Sabastian.
Absolutely amazing experience, I took a seafood cooking class with Patricio and Eneko, they took us to a local market and we all learned how to prepare seafood Basque style, made lovely friends and had a great time in the process. Amazing day! Thank you so much.
