What you’ll do

Learn about local food and wine production in Croatia, with this foodie adventure that’s led by a PhD student who is also a winemaker and olive grower. • Try local dishes, wine, and olive oil in Dubrovnik
  • Fascinating insights from a winemaker guide
  • Lots of variety—including seafood, meat, and a dessert
  • Hassle-free tour with food and drinks included
Itinerary
1
While we are walking through the Old Town of Dubrovnik (also known as The Pearl of Adriatic), we will pass by all the major attractions, such as Revelin fort, Ploče gate, Lazareti, Franciscan monastery, Onofrio's fountain, Rupe museum, Farmers market and Jesuits stairs and Rector's Palace.
2
In the Old town, we are going to visit 4 family-run places. In the first one, there will be a guided evaluation of olive oil, where you are going to learn how to easily recognize the main characteristics of extra virgin olive oil (15 minutes). After that, we are going to two restaurants where we'll try 4 wines paired with four dishes (a total of 60 min). In the end, we are going to have dessert in the last place. In between, we are going to learn about the history of Dubrovnik and the historical-cultural context of food and wine on the tour.
3
While passing by Large Onofrio's fountain we are going to talk about the peak time of the famous Dubrovnik Republic and biggest engineering projects of that time.
4
While walking through off the beaten path parts of the Old City and enjoying the view of rooftops, we will pass by one of the best museums in Dubrovnik, the 16th-century granary of Dubrovnik.
5
Perfect spot to talk about the political system of the Republic. Why it was so successful and what tricks were used by the Aristocracy to find the way out of many threats made by stronger opponents?
