What you’ll do

The Wawel Hill is for Krakow what the Acropolis is for ancient Athens or the Capitol is for Rome. The rocky hill towering over the bank of the Vistula has been the seat of secular and church authorities for centuries, and today it is the most visited and one of the most important museums in Poland. It collects collections of paintings, graphics, sculptures, fabrics, goldsmiths, militaria, porcelain and furniture. In the former royal chambers there are the famous tapestries of Zygmunt August and wonderful Italian Renaissance paintings from the Lanckoroński family collection, and the Wawel collections of eastern art contain the most important and largest collection of tents in Europe. The permanent exhibitions in the chateau recreate the appearance of the rooms from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. See all of these great things with an experienced local guide. After seeing the original royal chambers, entering the majestic Cathedral and learning about the most interesting historical facts interwoven with fairy tales, we invite you to a tour of Krakow's Old Town with our guide. Together, we will visit a 15th-century cellar and taste delicious Polish wine with traditional Polish tapas. With a small group of people you will enjoy the intimate atmosphere of Krakow, listen to the detailed commentary of the guide, steeped in the atmosphere of this fabulous city. Finally, we will get an uninterrupted view of the panorama of Krakow while enjoying a glass of wine and looking at the magnificent Royal Castle from the highest roof. Meeting point: on the St. Mary Magdalene Square, at the Piotr Skarga Monument (click to go to Google Maps) End point: ul. Smocza (click to go to the Google maps)
