What you’ll do
On this exciting excursion, you'll have the opportunity to explore two premium wineries, where you'll be able to immerse yourself in the various processes involved in the production of wine and sparkling wine characteristic of Catalonia. At each of these wineries, you'll be treated to an exquisite tasting that will allow you to discover some of the traditional wines they produce, accompanied by a tasting of local products.
Departing from Julià Travel's office located in Estació del Nord, we'll head to two of Catalonia's most outstanding wineries, where you'll have the chance to discover the secrets of winemaking, their rich history and enjoy a unique tasting experience.
Did you know that Catalonia is one of the most important wine regions in Spain? With a winemaking heritage dating back more than 2,000 years, it currently has eleven designations of origin. Vineyards have been an integral part of the region for centuries, producing more than 380 million bottles a year, including an outstanding production of sparkling wine, which accounts for half of the total production.
Our first stop will be at a truly exceptional and captivating winery, where you will have the opportunity to discover how the winery has been meticulously constructed inside a cave, invisible from the outside. You will explore how the cellar has been designed on different levels to facilitate the gravity-fed winemaking process. You will enjoy a wine pairing of three wines accompanied by delicious local cured meats.
At the conclusion of our visit, we'll head to one of Catalonia's most prestigious wineries: Llopart, a centuries-old site where the renowned sparkling wine with designation of origin Corpinnat is produced. Here, you'll be taken on a journey through the winery's history, from its humble beginnings to the present day, as you explore the vineyards and enjoy breathtaking views of Montserrat. You will be able to immerse yourself in the facilities where the wines and sparkling wines are made, culminating in a tasting of some of their best sparkling wines accompanied by exquisite traditional cured meats.
Once the visit to the Llopart winery is completed, we will return to Barcelona by bus, concluding our excursion in the same place where we started, at the Estació del Nord.
