What you’ll do

Discover food and wine in Lisbon and beyond with this comprehensive grand tour for small groups lasting 24 days. Starting out in Lisbon at 8.30 AM, you’ll discover fine food and wine in Portugal before travelling on to Spain and exploring a number of different regions. You’ll then explore Italy and Slovenia as you visit places like Trieste, Verona, Lake Bled, and Ljubljana, discovering local food, wine, and places of interest. This ultimate tour concludes in Croatia with a day trip out of the country to Mostar, finishing up with a final dinner on a farm in Dubrovnik.

Day 1 - Arrival in Lisbon: Arrive in the Portuguese capital and check in to your hotel independently. Spend the day exploring the sights locally and enjoying a self-organised lunch and dinner

Day 2 - Vineyard Exploration and Fish Tasting: Explore the Torres Vedras region, known for its vines, with visits to farms and cellars for wine and food tastings. You'll also journey to Alenquer, famous for hilly panoramas and small wineries, with vine tours and tastings included. In the evening, visit Sintra and Cascais, with dinner included

Day 3 - Discovering the Centre of Portugal: Depart for Beja, crossing the Alentejo region, known for its robust wines. You'll explore Castelo de Vide, Marvão, Portalegre, Crato, and Alter do Chão, before an evening visit to Beja's castle and monastery, plus an overnight stay at a wine resort

Day 4 - Exclusive Jabugo Experience: Moving on to Spain, your group will depart in the morning to Jabugo for a premium ham experience. Experience a ham cutting show with the master Cordon Bleu, a masterclass with a tasting session, and a visit to a typical home in Jabugo. Visit the Huelva Valley in the afternoon, and enjoy a tapas dinner in the evening before returning to the hotel

Day 5 - Cordoba and Seville: Travel to Cordoba to visit its famous mosque and explore the Roman city with hidden cellars for wine tasting. You'll then move on to Seville, visiting Giralda and Reales Alcazares before enjoying your evening meal in Seville

Day 6 - From the South to the North of Spain: Depart for Cadiz, where you'll sample Manzanilla sherry served with prawns. You'll also visit a local winery in Jerez. You'll then fly to Bilbao and transfer to your hotel, before planning your own evening and enjoying dinner

Day 7 - Tour of the Basque Country: Enjoy a full-day excursion visiting Bilbao and Pamplona. You'll stop at a vineyard for wine tasting and a wine tour with lunch before heading back to your hotel in the evening

Day 8 - The King's Wine Roads: Journey to the northeastern Spanish city Zaragoza for wine tasting at the largest winery in the region. During the afternoon, travel to Barcelona and savour a delicious dinner on a farm before staying overnight in Girona

Day 9 - Discovering the Wines of Costa and Collina Toscana: Fly to Pisa in Italy and have breakfast in the charming Piazza dei Miracoli. You'll visit Volterra and San Gimignano, with a farmhouse lunch and wine tasting included. Later, you'll explore Riomaggiore, visit a winery, and enjoy a fish dinner with a sea view

Day 10 - Ligurian Lemons to Piedmont's Truffle and Barolo: Move on to Riviera di Ponente for sun and sea before having lunch beside the sea. Then you'll depart for Langhe (Barolo) for a visit to Barolo Museum with an aperitif and tasting session. The day concludes with dinner in a trattoria and an overnight stay

Day 12 - Flavours and Traditions of Emilia-Romagna: Spend the day fully immersed in the flavours of Emilia, sampling Parmigiano Reggiano, Parma ham, and traditional balsamic vinegar. You'll also check into the thermal district of Salsomaggiore for some time to relax and unwind. In the evening, savour a tasting menu in a refined restaurant

Day 13 - Preparing a Typical Dish: Explore the secrets of Italian cuisine with traditional chefs during an interactive cooking class. You'll also explore an authentic 10th century castle, culminating in enjoying dinner at the castle

Day 14 - Discovering Amarone and Valpolicella: Depart to Verona and experience a free walking tour. Visit Valpolicella for Amarone and Valpolicella tasting, with lunch too, before transferring to Asolo for a cooking class in a 17th century Villa Veneta. Day 15 - From Prosecco to PDO and DOGC Ham: Check out of your hotel in the morning and visit the Prosecco hills, with a cellar tour and wine tasting included. Have lunch in a typical restaurant or farmhouse before an afternoon visit to Pordenone and the renowned ham factory San Daniele. Dinner is served in a grill restaurant, accompanied by original beers

Day 17 - Slovenian Traditions: Travel on to Slovenia and depart to Lipica horse breeding for a tour. You'll also visit an oenologist for wine tasting, and experience sightseeing tours of Stanjewl and Vipav. Lunch and dinner are both served in a farmhouse, with wine tastings included

Day 18 - Lake Bled & Ljubljiana: Enjoy a guided tour to the picturesque Lake Bled and pletna rides towards the island of Bled. Have lunch at Bled Castle before driving to Ljubljana and taking part in a walking tour. Have dinner in a typical Slovenian restaurant before staying overnight in Ljubljana

Day 19 - Maribor and Ptuj: Drive to Maribor for a sightseeing tour and wine tasting in the cellars. You'll also have lunch in Maribor before driving to Ptuj for another sightseeing tour and wine tasting. You'll have dinner in the town before staying overnight at a local thermal resort

Day 20 - Spa Day and Relaxation: Spend an easy morning relaxing in the spa resort before having lunch in Ptuj. Next, you'll drive towards Žalec and visit a famous beer fountain. You'll then carry on to Laško and relax in another spa resort

Day 21 - Welcome to Croatia: Drive to Zagreb in Croatia for a sightseeing tour and lunch. You'll then visit the Plitvice lakes before concluding the day with dinner and an overnight stay on a farm.

Day 22 - Oil, Wine, and Local Gastronomy: Drive to Zadar for a sightseeing tour before moving on to Pakostane for lunch. Then drive onwards to Sibenik and visit a fortress. You'll then visit Split on a guided tour with oil, wine, and local food tastings. You'll also have dinner and stay overnight here

Day 23 - Last Tastings: Drive to Podgora and visit Etnaland for a tasting. Then you'll travel to Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina for lunch and a visit. You'll head back into Croatia to Dubrovnik for a guided tour, before celebrating your final dinner and overnight stay on a farm
