Itinerary
- 1Embark from your exquisite Budapest hotel, our journey commences by traversing through the captivating town of Sopron in northwestern Hungary. Our path leads us to the enchanting shores of the shallow Lake Fertő, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that gracefully straddles the Austrian and Hungarian border. Gliding through the picturesque Burgenland, Austria's most diverse wine region, we shall indulge in the opulence of reds, whites, and exquisite botrytized wines, savouring the legendary blaufränkisch and uncovering its illustrious status as Austria's red wine capital. Along this scenic route adorned with majestic castles and noble residences, we shall be enthralled by the magnificence of the two Eszterházy family castles, one mirrored after the splendour of Versailles in Fertőd, Hungary, and the other gracing the lands of Eisenstadt, Austria. Our odyssey shall weave its way to Rust, a quaint village nestled upon the reed-covered shores of Lake Fertő, the grandeur of the second largest steppe lake in Central Europe. In Rust, the annual arrival of the graceful storks is met with jubilation, as the locals diligently keep a running tally. At a haven of culinary delight, be it a renowned restaurant or a charming wine tavern, we shall relish in the delectable regional specialties that await us, indulging our palates with a symphony of flavours.
- 2Allow us to streamline your travel planning and logistics, whisking you effortlessly between Budapest and Vienna, while presenting an unforgettable escapade through the resplendent wine country that lines our path.
