Immerse yourself in the rich history, culinary traditions, and hidden secrets of this ancient village with our expert-guided tour
Your adventure begins at 09:30 a.m. from the heart of Rome (or from your accommodation if it is centrally located). A 45-minute drive takes you to Frascati, where our friendly guide awaits. Embark on a delightful stroll through Frascati's streets, savoring the renowned Frascati roasted pork from the town's oldest bakery ('Porchetta'), and sampling Frascati wine in a traditional 'Fraschetta.' Encounter local bakers, tavern owners, and other charming residents. Explore iconic landmarks such as Villa Aldobrandini, Frascati’s Saint Peter’s Church, the main market plaza, typical shops and taverns, the Bishop’s Palace, and the 12th-century church St. Rocco.
Following the town exploration, a short walk leads you to the Frascati Winery. Accompanied by the vintner, wander through the vineyard, gaining insights into grape varieties and pruning systems. Explore the 16th-century cellar to discover traditional winemaking methods and ancient Roman artifacts in the deep wine cave. The highlight awaits—a captivating wine tasting experience featuring three wines: white Frascati Superiore DOCG, red Vagnolo wine IGP, and sweet Cannellino wine. Paired with the vineyard’s olive oil, pizza, unique breads, and seasonal fruits or vegetables, this sensory journey is guided by a licensed wine sommelier.
Concluding the winery experience, stroll back to Frascati for light lunch at a charming Osteria. Indulge in a mixed platter of typical Roman cuisine, like ricotta with honey and walnuts, local cheeses, prosciutto, salami and mozzarella, or your choice of traditional Roman pasta, like gnocchi with truffle sauce or spaghetti with cured ham sauce or any possible special they have on the menu for that day. During the lunch, one of the best wines of the Frascati Winery will be served.
At approximately 02:30 p.m., return to Rome by Minivan, arriving at your accommodation around 03:30 p.m. Alternatively, request a drop-off at a specific city center location for further self-exploration of the Eternal City's wonders.
