What you’ll do

Immerse yourself in Croatia’s culture and traditions as you explore two typical Dalmatian villages, interacting with their residents and enjoying authentic local cuisine on this sightseeing tour.  Departing from Split, you will head to the Medieval town of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Europe’s best-preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex. Situated on a small island between the mainland and a larger island of Čiovo, Trogir offers a quintessential portrait of a typical Dalmatian town, characterized by its array of spectacular stone houses, palaces, churches, towers, and fortresses. Step back in time as you admire the town’s orthogonal street plan, dating back to the Hellenistic period, and visit the stunning 13th-century Cathedral of St. Lawrence, a Roman Catholic three-aisled basilica and the town’s most notable monument.  Continue on to acquaint yourself with a typical Dalmatian village, its inhabitants and traditions. You will drive inland to the Primošten area to a small picturesque village of Burnji. On the way there, you will pass by interesting landscapes and see the impressive transformations of this rocky terrain into an oasis of fertile, hospitable living. When you arrive at Jurlinovi Dvori, you will witness what life looked like in Dalmatia three hundred years ago and over a tasting of the local Babić wine you will feel the aroma of cooking above the flame or smell of the homemade bread baked under the an iron bell (the so-called peka style).  After visiting the village homes (some of which are several hundred years old), enjoy a refreshing rest in the shade of surrounding trees, while your hosts, wearing a national costume, serve some local specialties and a homemade wine.
