What you’ll do

The perfect combination to know the Venice of the North. Starting with a walking tour through the city center combined with a canal cruise with cheese tasting and all drinks included (beer, wine or soft drinks). A unique vision of the city which has a unique style of combining history with pure entertainment. The walking tour covers the main sights of the inner city. And the canal cruise route takes us through the principal canals, Amstel River, and seven bridges, some of Amsterdam’s most notable locations. You can’t truly experience the city without getting to know its waterways! On this tour, you’ll hear the stories you’d never hear otherwise. With an expert guide, you’ll experience the history of this city, from its start as a muddy village on the River Amstel, to the wild history of prostitution and drug decriminalization to the tragedy of Anne Frank’s story and Nazi occupation, the aim is to give you a perfect introduction to this city. Note that on special occasions, or for reasons not related to Amsterdam Guides & Tours, the tour may vary slightly. The tour guide may adapt the experience to deliver the best experience for the group overall.

Itinerary

We will visit the heart of the city at Dam Square where we will see The Royal Palace, The New Church, and The National Monument

The Oudekerk (The Old Church) in the middle of the Red Light District

We will walk through the Chinese Quarter where we will find the Buddhist Temple of Amsterdam

The new market and The San Anton Gate just close to the Chinese Quarter

We will talk about Jewish history in Amsterdam and the World War II

At Spui Square we will visit the Begijnhof´s gardens

We will visit The Amsterdam Museum

At the end of the walking tour, you could enjoy a canal cruise (optional unlimited drinks and cheese on board). This cruise route takes us through the principal canals, Amstel River and seven bridges, some of Amsterdam’s most notable locations. You can’t truly experience the city without getting to know its waterways!
