You can find some of the best restaurants in Paris under the moonlit shadows of the Eiffel Tower and along the infamous Champs-Élysées. However, for an authentic experience of French “al Fresco” dining this summer, head towards those overlooking the picturesque River Seine or hidden away within the local Montmartre neighbourhood.

It’s also worth noting for foodies that Paris is definitely worth a visit during the warmer (albeit busier) summer months. The weather is certainly more appealing when it comes to booking a table outside, while plenty of locally sourced ingredients also start arriving on the menu.

Where to Find the Best Restaurants in Paris this Summer

France is well-known for its high standard of talented chefs, with many up-and-coming names keen to plate up ambitious and stunning creations. So, if you are planning a trip to the French capital, here are just some of the best restaurants in Paris this summer - although we highly recommend booking in advance!

Girafe (1 Pl. du Trocadéro et du 11 Novembre, 75016 Paris)

The interior of Girafe is just stunning, to say the least - designed by Joseph Dirand and has a real 1930s feel. You will find yourself in a fabulous space, with its cream-coloured benches, a marble-top bar and the original pilasters, surrounded by tropical plants dotted among the tables.

The restaurant opens onto a terrace with a superb view of the Eiffel Tower. Chef Benoît Dargère is in charge, specialising in shellfish and crustaceans. You can enjoy freshly cooked platters or cold delights such as ceviche, beef carpaccio and sashimi. Whereas lobster and turbot are also likely to appear on the menu during early Summer.

Apicius (20 Rue d'Artois, 75008 Paris)

This Michelin-starred restaurant resides inside the magnificent Hotel Schneider. Guests can choose to dine in the main Dining Room or the Klimt Room.

However, for the summer we'd recommend the Petit Salon, a private room for up to eight people with access to a romantic and magical garden. The innovative French cuisine at Apicuius offers the likes of John Dory fillets with caponata and lime oil or delicious lobster from the Chausey Islands, served with fresh almonds in a vin jaune sauce.

Drouant (16-18 Rue Gaillon, 75002 Paris)

This gorgeous Parisian restaurant is opening up a lovely terrace this summer, encircled by trees and plants, allowing guests to enjoy the sunshine long into the evening.

The menu rejoices in the Parisian cuisine and seasonal produce, serving - risotto with asparagus, fresh oysters and lobster rolls. It also offers amazing wine from the Gardinier dynasty.
