Day 1 : Florence
Pick-up and departure.
Boutique WineryAt this family-run winery situated at the base of the hilly Montalcino, you will get immersed into the Italian art of cooking and drinking. You are going to explore the entire estate, tour the vineyards and wine cellars and understand the production process of Brunello.
Here you will learn how to cook a complete menu, from appetizer to dessert, using only the freshest seasonal ingredients, the majority of which come from the area of Montalcino! To offer you a sneak peek, you will learn how to make bruschetta, two types of pasta and accompanying sauces and cantuccini.
At lunch you will serve, alongside other dishes, what you have previously cooked. The whole experience will be wrapped up with a complex wine tasting that includes remarkable and praised wines. Additionally, you will get to taste extra-virgin olive oil, as this is another appreciated product of the winery.
MontalcinoYou will enjoy some free time in this medieval borgo. The very high site of the town offers stunning views over Tuscan valleys. In the case of Montalcino, gradual economic decline has recently been reversed by economic growth due to the increasing popularity of the town's famous wine Brunello di Montalcino, made from the Sangiovese Grosso grapes, grown within the proximities. The number of wine producers has grown from only 11 in the 1960s to more than 200 today.
