    You will be provided with seven nights accommodations at a week-long unforgettable culinary program in Kato Gouves, a village near Chersonissos in Crete based on double room occupancy, daily breakfast and dinners (Half Board meal program), activities and excursions mentioned in the program.

    Family Suite

    Large two-bedroom apartment with sitting and dining room, A/C units in every bedroom. A comfortable sofa/bed (for one person) in the living room area. Fully-equipped kitchenette, fridge, toaster, boiler, coffee pot, two hot plates, hairdryer, wireless internet, and TV in every bedroom.     Day 1 : 8 Days / 7 Nights Cooking Vacation in Crete (Purpose - Program)

    The purpose of the program is to discover the culinary delights of Crete from Real People. You will be a part of their day-to-day life and share with them their knowledge of local products and delicacies. Be part of True Crete. Enjoy a homemade lunch in the most unique and beautiful environments. Enjoy unlimited exceptional local wine. A Small-group tour limited up to twelve people. Tailor-made Cretan Cooking Class experience. Live as Cretans do for the last 8.000 years.

    Learn the secrets of Cretan and Mediterranean cuisine. The protective effect of the Cretan diet on human health was attributed to its high monounsaturated fat content, due to the daily use of olive oil, as well as to low saturated fat, due to the low consumption of red meat. At present, it is well aware that this particular nutritional scheme possesses important additional features since it is a diet that, when applied in sufficient quantities, provides all the necessary micro-constituents (i.e. vitamins and minerals), and is rich in Omega-three fatty acids, vegetable fibers, antioxidants, and various phytochemicals, which have a significant influence on several body functions, and a beneficial effect on your health.

    Day 1

    Pick up at arrival time at Heraklion International Airport (HER) or port and transfer to the Apartments on the north coastline of Crete in Kato Gouves, near Chersonissos

    Enjoy welcome drinks followed by some free time to settle in.

    The dinner will feature contemporary Cretan cuisine and will be served by your hosts at the sea frond Tavern of the apartments.

    Day 2

    After breakfast, during your free morning, you will have an opportunity to take a stroll around the charming village of Kato Gouves, visit Creta Aquarium, the second biggest in East Europe, and even take a bus or taxi to Chersonissos, Stalis, Malia, or Heraklion city.

    Lunch on your own.

    In the afternoon, enjoy Mama Koula in her open kitchen and be a part of a fully interactive cooking class. Cooking at ease in the “kitchen” and then devour the delicious dishes you have just created! (The lesson will take place at the seafront of the tavern)

    Day 3

    After breakfast, around 10:00 we will take a tour visiting Lasithi Plateau. Lasithi Plateau is well known for its agricultural products and unique beauty. First, stop at an iconic monastery with a long history. We will drive to the foothills of Diktaion Andron. We will walk on a path and at 1025 meters we will enter meet the entrance of Zeus Cave, the birthplace of Zeus.

    Coming down from the cave we will stop at a tavern to have a traditional Cretan lunch overlooking the endless fields of Lasithi.

    On the way back we will make a stop at a private own village and explore and taste several traditional products all made within the village.

    Free afternoon for personal activities (suggestions: you can go and relax to the beach or relax at your apartment)

    In the afternoon, enjoy Mama Koula in her open kitchen and be a part of a fully interactive cooking class. Cooking at ease in the “kitchen” and then devour the delicious dishes you have just created! (The lesson will take place at the seafront of the tavern)

    Day 5

    Traditional Cretan Breakfast

    You will start at 10:00 a.m. after breakfast from the local olive oil mill where the specialist will explain to us the cold extraction of olive oil producing process. We will visit olive fields and taste of different qualities and aromas of olive oil. This is followed by an explanation of the secrets of Cretan virgin olive oil and how to choose them from the market shelves.

    The next stop will be at the cutbacks of Heraklion prefecture and the village of Myrtia. We will visit the Kazantzakis Museum. The Kazantzakis Museum pays tribute to the great man of spirit, the writer, thinker, philosopher, politician, traveler Nikos Kazantzakis.

    Lunch at a family own tavern, enjoying traditional delicacies.

    You will be back at your accommodation in the early afternoon. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax or visit the sandy beach for a refreshing swim.

    Day 6

    Traditional Cretan Breakfast

    The day is a tribute to local wineries and their wines. We will visit a couple of them, family-run and awarded from all over the world. You will start at 10:00 a.m. visiting the first winery, you will share the passion for Cretan wine and you will discover vineyards, local varieties, and ways of producing them.

    Tour is followed by a wine tasting, sampling quality Cretan wines (served with some traditional meze), while the hosts will answer all of your questions.

    We will stop for lunch at Archanes village and enjoy a magnificent meal under the trees at the center square.

    In the afternoon, another delicious moment will start with your Cretan cooking class waiting for you. You will have for dinner the dishes you prepared with your chef

    Free morning for personal activities (suggestion: Heraklion City visiting Knossos Palace, Archaeological museum, do some shopping)

    A tremendous goodbye dinner will be offered prepared and cooked by Mama Koula and her family members.
