What you’ll do

Your small-group tour will begin in central Florence, where you’ll join up with your guide and head straight to a local coffee bar. Fuel up with samples of two different roasts and learn about the production process. Next up, enjoy a true taste of Florence with a truffle pâté sandwich (panino tartufato) at a delicatessen dating back to 1885. Your guide will provide historical commentary and local lore about the passing city sights as you continue to your next haunt. Follow your guide to an enoteca, or local wine shop, to swirl and sip two Tuscan blends, complemented by regional cheeses and meats. Complete the first part of your tour with a visit to one of the city’s best gelaterias, where you’ll please your sweet tooth with a delicious helping of Italian ice cream. Afterward, wander through the San Lorenzo Market, learning some of the secrets behind fresh Florentine ingredients and recipes. Treat your taste buds to high-end olive oils with crostini, toasted Italian bread, and sweet balsamic vinegars. Your tour concludes in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo.

Meet your local guide in central Florence and begin your 3-hour gourmet tour of the city! Italians usually start their morning at a café with a strong cup of coffee, so follow your guide to a typical Italian coffee bar, where you can try two types of delicious coffee and learn about the local roasting process.

Continue to an old delicatessen founded in 1885, where you’ll enjoy a panino tartufato, a delicate, truffle pâté sandwich made with the truffles for which the deli is famous. As you continue to your next food stop, listen as your guide illustrates the history of Florence’s most important squares where Florentines used to buy their food. Learn about typical local dishes and ingredients, but don’t expect detailed how to’s – Italians would never give away their secret family recipes!

Your tour continues to a local wine shop, known as an enoteca, where you'll savor two Tuscan wines, accompanied by delicious regional cheeses and local meats. While you enjoy your tasting, learn about the origins of the food and wine from your guide. Top it off with something sweet at the final stop of your tour, one of Florence's best gelato shops where you’ll indulge in freshly made gelato!
