What you'll do

Escape the bustling city of São Paulo and discover scenic typical countryside landscapes on a full day guided tour to the little piece of Netherlands in Brazil, the town of Holambra. Known for being the city of flowers and for its Dutch colonization, Holambra maintains much of the Dutch traditions, culture, cuisine and beautiful fields of production of flowers and ornamental plants that attracts visitors from all Brazil. Located only about 120 km from São Paulo, the town is a good surprise for those who are willing to know its charms at any time of the year, but it gets even more vibrant with tourists in the month of September when springtime begins. Tourists can spend the entire day touring around on walks, flower fields, pepper farm, windmills, parks, lakes, and dutch sweet shop. In addition, pay a visit to the Dutch immigration museum to understand a little more about the history of Dutch immigration in Brazil and to find out how the city of Holambra was founded.

    Learn more about the history of Holambra, a city founded by the Dutch in 1948. The Museum tells everything about Dutch immigration and colonization through a large exhibition of photos, films and objects.

    In the open air, old machinery and tractors are on display and as well as replicas of houses of when the city was founded.

    The Deck of Love is inspired by a French tradition. The place serves as inspiration for couples in love and has a place where lovebirds can put a padlock with the couple's name on it.

    As in Paris, the lovers throw away the padlock keys, in this case, at Lake Vitoria Regia. The act, according to tradition, symbolizes that lovers will be together forever.

    In addition to the photogenic landscape, with nature and beautiful chalets, the Van Gogh Park also pays tribute to the artist with replicas of paintings by the Dutch painter.

    Art exhibitions and cultural events are also part of the cultural space program.

    The windmill is the city's postcard and receives many tourists all year round.

    It's an exact copy of the famous and traditional Dutch windmills. It works just like in Netherlands by the force of the winds and grinding grains.

    The Mill has 10 floors, 7 of which are open to visitors. It is 38 meters high. At the top there is a viewpoint, open on weekends, from where it is possible to have a privileged view of the city.

    Peppers Sítio Joeljer is a unique place for pepper lovers to visit in Holambra and learn more about its cultivation and production.

    The guided tasting allows you to differentiate each intensity of the peppers and because it does not have preservatives and additives, it preserves the natural flavor.

    It's also possible to visit the pepper plantations, as they are planted and processed at the location.

    Taste the typical Dutch stroopwafel that is a real success among visitors and very delicious! It's even worth taking as a souvenir to friends and relatives.

    For those unfamiliar, it's a Dutch cookie with a recipe kept under lock by the baker who produces it.

    You can find in flavors of caramel, coffee, chocolate, lemon and pineapple with ginger. All have a special touch of cinnamon.
