What you'll do
Being a foodie means searching for genuine cuisine and the best quality. This search is possible thanks to the Żuk retro minibus, the exceptional vehicle that gives you a chance to visit more distant spots than on the typical walking tours. So, first, visit the best bazaar and taste the daily selection of pickled, dried, smoked and fresh Polish specialities. Then, go to local eateries, consume soups, dumplings, and desserts, and top them with alcoholic beverages. Warsaw, its history, culture and exciting facts uncovered by the guide create an excellent background to complete this experience.
Itinerary
- 1Our guide picks you up from your hotel with our retro minibus - this exceptional vehicle gives you a chance to experience much more than the typical walking tour. Pick-up and drop off service is available only for centrally located hotels, listed in the pickup selection box. If your hotel is not listed, please contact us to set up the most comfortable pick-up point.
- 2
The guide picks you up from your hotel with the retro minibus. After collecting all participants, you are introduced to the small location far from the beaten tourist path - the local pastry shop. Traditional recipes and best ingredients - you must try this.
- 3
We take you to the best food market in Warsaw - Hale Mirowskie. Being filled with dozens of stalls, it’s the source of the best ingredients for chefs of five stars restaurants as well as for local babushkas. You will taste the best Polish specialities, like Polish sausage, pickled cucumbers and cabbage, smoked fish, lovely bread, traditional soft drink and more (the list may vary since it’s seasonal and daily selection). Small talks (in Polish!) with sellers add more flavour to this visit.
- 4
The next is the local restaurant near Warsaw Old Town, and it’s also a perfect moment to slow down and take a breath after storming the food market. Try two kinds of soups and a Polish speciality - dumplings.
- 5
Delicious soups must be topped with the oldest alcohol - Mead, which is a beverage created by fermenting honey with water.
- 6
It’s time to visit the next spot, which serves a unique version of Polish dumplings. Pyzy, which are made from potatoes and topped with delicious sauces, played an essential role on the tables of Warsaw citizens. Often they were served in jars during communist days, since that glass container was the only available one, long before take away boxes that we know now.
- 7
Stories about communism must be topped with a glass of delicious homemade vodka - trust us, this will be the best vodka you will find in Warsaw.
