The Triumphal Arch appeared in Bendery on Ermakov Street, almost at the entrance to the city, on October 7, 2008, on the eve of the city’s 600th anniversary.
Architects V. Frolkov, B. Filimonov, and I. Kibich developed the project.
An employee of the historical and local lore museum of Bendery, A.A. Alyokhin, manually made all the metal elements of the monument.
In the upper part of the Triumphal arch there is a bas-relief with a double-headed eagle. On the columns, one can see decorative military attributes: a helmet, an axe, a poleaxe, which embody the glory of Russian weapons.
The front side of the arch faces the entrance to the city – this is how the architects preserved the old tradition, according to which the triumphal gate was always set as a facade to the road leading to the city.
