What you'll do
Have you ever had all those delicious Cambodian dishes and wished you could replicate them? We have an opportunity for you to do just that. We will take you to learn alongside locals how to make those local dishes. The journey starts with a stroll through the village and pay a visit to a local family. We will bring to that family a gift of rice to thank them for their participation. You will then learn about the homegrown herbs and vegetables and find out more about Khmer cuisine. Next, a local chef will lead you into the real cooking experience at Herb Garden which is considered one of Siem Reap's treasures. There are 2 classes. If you choose the Morning Class, you'll learn how to make a Mango Salad, a Fish Amok, and Chaek Churng (bananas cooked with palm sugar and coconut). The Afternoon class consists in Prohet Chien (minced fish on sugar cane), Cambodian Chicken Curry, and Nom Tong Noun (Khmer brandy snaps). You will eat the cooked meals together and then be dropped at your hotel.
