Waterfalls, Mt Hood, and Wine Tour (Tasting Fees Included)

What you'll do

Prepare for an adventure of epic proportions as our passionate guides take you on a journey to the most stunning sights in the Gorge and Hood River Valley. Brace yourself for a spellbinding history lesson on this magical land while we whisk you away to one of the most tantalizing wineries that showcase the mesmerizing Columbia River AVA. We'll stop at some of the most picturesque spots like Multnomah Falls, Bonneville Fish Hatchery, Hood River, one winery, Mt Hood and Timberline Lodge!. Get ready to soak in the beauty, history and, of course, the wine! Multnomah Falls, a breathtaking 620-foot ancient waterfall, is a true natural wonder. Hidden underground streams originating miles above on Larch Mountain feed this beauty, which is split into two sections. The upper falls crashes down a staggering 542 feet into a serene pool, followed by another 69-foot drop, forming a creek that flows into the Columbia River. Talk about impressive! This Oregonian gem is the highest year-round waterfall in the state and second in the United States, drawing over 2.5 million visitors annually from all corners of the globe. And, if that wasn't enough, the Historic Multnomah Falls Lodge sits right at the waterfall's base, making it the perfect place to relax and refuel. With a restaurant, gift shop, snack and espresso bar, and interpretative center, this lodge has everything you need to experience the magic of the falls. After experiencing this magical waterfall be prepared to gaze in awe at Herman The Sturgeon at Bonneville Fish Hatchery. Herman is the granddaddy sturgeon who's over 80 years old, 10 feet long, and weighs a whopping 500 pounds! Post-lunch, we'll hit up a top-notch winery, but first, explore downtown Hood River solo for your 1 hour lunch. If you're a wine lover, you'll be over the moon to know that the Columbia Gorge Wine Region is your Shangri-La! With over 65 wineries snuggled along a 40-mile stretch of the Columbia River, you're in for a treat. While the Columbia River AVA stretches into both Oregon and Washington, we've cherry-picked one fantastic winery in the Hood River Valley region of Oregon. Brace yourself to indulge in a delightful wine-tasting experience from a list of impressive wineries such as Phelps Creek Vineyards, Cathedral Ridge Winery, Marchesi Vineyards & Winery, Viento, Mt. Hood Winery, Stave & Stone, Cascade Cliffs Tasting Room, The Pines, Garnier, Hood Crest, and Wy’East vineyards. Cheers to a fabulous time! Once you have had your thirst quenched by wine we will head to a farm stand (spring & summer only) then to Timberline Lodge over halfway up the side of Mt. Hood.  You'll be amazed at the year round snow,  and view from the top! After a day filled with adventure, we'll whisk you off to your downtown Portland hotel.

Known for its epic 1,200-mile journey to the ocean, this waterway cuts through four impressive mountain ranges and showers the Pacific Ocean with more water than any other river in North or South America. Fun fact: this river used to hold the crown for the biggest salmon hauls on the planet, boasting returns that soared above 30 million salmon every year.

The majestic Timberline Lodge, perched on the southern side of Mt. Hood, rang in its 75th birthday in 2012. Originally, a brainchild of the Works Project Administration (WPA) art project, the lodge boasts some of the finest examples of artistry from that era, with gorgeous woodwork, ironwork, and paintings. The mountain's natural contours were mirrored in the lodge's design, using stone and wood sourced from the nearby forest. In 1977, it was declared a National Historic Landmark. Nowadays, more than two million visitors flock to Timberline Lodge each year to hit the slopes, hike, or just bask in the glory of the mountain with a glass of Oregon's finest wine.

The runner-up of the world's most scaled mountains, Mt. Hood, reigns supreme with its 11 frosty glaciers and the sole year-long ski resort in North America. Timberline Lodge, a stunning structure erected during the 1930s WPA program, is now the perfect place to ski, hike, or unwind by the crackling fire, all while basking in the awe-inspiring sight of the towering mountain.

But that's not all! The area around Mt. Hood is a treasure trove of farms, with the Hood River County Fruit Loop being the crown jewel. It's a sprawling expanse of orchards, vineyards, and fields of fragrant lavender and wildflowers.
