Thementi di Pietranico tour unveils a captivating circuit that guides visitors through the exploration of ancient basins. Enchanting outcropping rocks, meticulously crafted into tanks for on-field vinification, grace the surrounding territory. Here, astute farmers ingeniously transported only the must, leaving behind the byproducts of the process as nourishment for the land, thereby obviating the arduous transportation of non-wine-yielding materials to the farms. These millstones bear witness to the remarkable craftsmanship of local artisans, illuminating the prominence of fine wine production that flourished within the region. Notably, the Municipality of Pietranico boasts the highest concentration of millstones hewn from rock in Abruzzo, majestically sprawling across the west-facing slope, casting their imposing spell over the town.

Embark on this captivating itinerary, commencing at the village via Umberto I where the preserved Caprera Bath stands as a testament to the past. Descending along Via Settentrionale, a stunning asphalt road, lies fragments of history waiting to be discovered. At 0.58 km, venture onto the private road to immerse yourself in the charm of the Mattucci tub. Further descending, a crossroads unveils a water collection tank, an awe-inspiring stone creation at 0.88 km. To resume the enchanting journey, turn right after a short detour of 100m awaits the distinguished Villa Odoardi Bath. Traverse a wide and welcoming breach, setting foot at the 1.96 km point where, upon reaching a crossroads, a serene 250m natural-bottom track leads to a hidden, untouched basin. Revisit the breech, turning right to encounter the captivating Tub De Vito at 2.65 km. At 3 km, the itinerary descends to its lowest point, and from there, abandon the breech, ascending a track adorned by two elegant rows of oaks, guiding you towards the heart of the village. Embark on a short 100m hike to the right at 3.65 km, revealing the resplendent Grandonio Bath. Ascending once again at 4 km, an asphalted road beckons you to cross, unveiling another brief 200m hike to the Marzio Bath, nestled next to an unassuming residence. Upon returning to the crossroads, stake your path on a grassy track leading back to Pietranico, traversing the contours of the steepest slope.
