Itinerary
- 1Pick up at your Cruise Ship in La Rochelle. This morning, we will come and pick you up at your Cruise Ship in La Rochelle Cruise Port. Meet your English speaking guide who is an expert on Bordeaux Wines. Once you have met your guide, he/she will go over the program and itinerary of your private wine tour with you. Then, board your comfortable, air conditioned Mercedes minivan and begin to make your way to discover the vineyards of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux wine producing region.
- 2Embarking from the charming port of La Rochelle, a brief drive transports you to the picturesque countryside plains and idyllic rolling hills of the right bank wine producing area. Explore the heart of Bordeaux's famed wine region, home to many vineyards bearing the distinguished AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux désignation.
- 3Before lunch, the sommelier-guide introduced us to the first of these local wineries, steeped in a long winemaking heritage that reverberates in the distinct soil features of their exquisite vintages. A marriage of Merlot grapes bearing deep, bold flavours and other local varietals, particularly Cabernet Franc and, to a lesser extent, Cabernet Sauvignon, yields a perfect blend that tantalises the palate. Following lunch, we were whisked away to another equally enchanting winery, where we were awed by the same uncompromising commitment to quality and taste.
