Lima in a Day: Heritage Sites, Larco Museum & Magic Water Circuit with lunch

What you'll do

In the morning, we'll explore the main streets, squares, and avenues of the city. We'll begin with a panoramic tour of the Miraflores district, starting at the Parque del Amor, where we'll admire the famous sculpture "El Beso" by Peruvian artist Victor Delfín, and enjoy an excellent view of Lima Bay. Next, we'll continue our stroll through the neighborhood with a panoramic view of the Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial center of the Lima culture. Then, we'll head to the historic center of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll pass by the Catholic sanctuaries of the Señor de los Milagros and Santa Rosa de Lima, patron saint of the Americas. We'll descend into the Santa Rosa passage, where we'll begin our walking tour of downtown Lima, admiring the colonial houses and balconies from the Viceroyalty era. We'll enter the Minor Basilica and Maximum Convent of Our Lady of the Rosary, also known as the Convent of Santo Domingo. The corridors were traversed by the Peruvian saints San Martín de Porres and Santa Rosa de Lima in the 17th century, and where their remains still rest. The main courtyard, library, and infirmary where San Martín de Porres spent much of his life are its main attractions. We'll continue our walk to the Plaza Mayor de Lima, where we'll find the Government Palace and the Municipal Palace. We'll visit the Cathedral of Lima and the crypt of the conquistador Francisco Pizarro. Indulge in a delightful lunch at Casa Tambo. Nestled in the heart of the city, Casa Tambo offers a feast for the senses with its exquisite Peruvian cuisine. Savor traditional flavors meticulously crafted with locally sourced ingredients, while soaking in the charming ambiance of this historic venue. From succulent ceviche to tender lomo saltado, every dish is a masterpiece that showcases the rich culinary heritage of Peru. Join us for a memorable dining experience that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving for more. In the afternoon, visit to the Larco Museum, a place where we will get a clear vision of the different Cultures that existed in Ancient Perú. Expect to be astonished admiring the gold pieces, textiles and erotic pottery which are part of the collection that will introduce us to the cosmovision of the ancient Peru. The warehouse of this museum will be open during our visit so that we can appreciate the expressions of art that were reflected in their pottery. Our next stop will be an old pisco bar, in the district of Pueblo Libre. A chance to taste a Chilcano, a drink prepared with pisco, and enjoy a classic sandwich called butifarra. Afterwards we will visit the Magic Circuit of Water, a park of ornamental fountains that provides a marvelous spectacle of color and fantasy.
