Highlights

Plaza de Santa Ana in front of the Melia Group Me building. This building was built for the Duchess of Alba in which they held large parties for royalty and diplomats. Later in the 90s it was called the Hotel de los Toreros. This was where the best bullfighters stayed before the bullfight and were carried on the shoulders of the population.

The Puerta del Sol (English: "Gate of the Sun") is a public square in Madrid, one of the best-known and busiest places in the city. This is the centre (Km 0) of the radial network of Spanish roads. The square also contains the famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year.

The Statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree (in Spanish “El Oso y el Madroño”) is a sculpture from the second half of the 20th century, situated in the Spanish city of Madrid. It represents the coat of arms of Madrid and is found on the east side of the Puerta del Sol, between Calle de Alcalá and Carrer de San Jerónimo, in the historical centre of the capital.

The Gran Vía ("Great Way") street is an urban esplanade in central Madrid, Spain. It leads from Calle de Alcalá, close to Plaza de Cibeles, to Plaza de España. The street, sometimes referred to as the "Spanish Broadway", is one of the city's most important shopping areas, with a large number of hotels and large movie theatres; however, since the late 2000s, many of these theatres have been replaced by shopping centres.

The Gran Vía serves as a showcase of early 20th-century revival architecture, with architectural styles ranging from Vienna Secession style, Plateresque, Neo-Mudéjar, Art Deco, among others.
