The Red Canyon Tour - Small Group Trip with Tasting ツ

What you'll do

Embark on an enthralling expedition with the Red Canyon Tour, a mesmerizing journey beyond the “Grand Canyon of Gran Canaria”. More than just a landscape tour, this is your ticket to unlocking the profound tales and wonders of an island sculpted by time. Marvel at the grandeur of the reddish cliffs enveloping the Volcanic Caldera of Tirajana, the eternal canvas of the ancient Canarii people. Santa Lucía de Tirajana awaits as the heart of our adventure, where an oasis of palm trees becomes your sanctuary for leisurely explorations. Here, the annals of history unfold at the La Fortaleza’s aboriginal caves, a celestial observatory of yesteryears. As tales of the past enthral you, a traditional Canarian restaurant in Santa Lucía satiates your senses with exclusive local products. And then, be captivated by the allure of the Barranco de Las Vacas, where nature’s artistry is showcased through dramatic ravines and gorges. Whether you yearn for a spirited hike or a tranquil meander, the tour embraces all. As a day filled with enigmas draws to a close, let the pristine waters of Tufia or Arinaga offer solace, completing your 6-hour deep dive into nature, history, and gastronomy.

Itinerary

  • 1
At the first stop, you can enjoy stunning views of La Fortaleza Ruins and the Caldera de Tirajana at an impressive viewpoint.
  • 2

Village Visit: Dive into the charm of a village with pristine white houses nestled amongst palm trees. Explore its deep-rooted history, intrinsically linked to olive cultivation and beekeeping. The tales of ancient inhabitants still echo through its vibrant streets and its welcoming community.

  • 3

After basking in the view, we’ll delve into La Fortaleza. It’s one of the last known dwellings of the island’s ancient inhabitants. This nexus, where the sky meets the earth, will enable you to connect with the aboriginal culture, transporting you back in time.

  • 4

Inside a typical Canarian restaurant in Santa Lucía, a gastronomic delight awaits. Here, indulge in a tasting of fresh fruit and other Zero-KM products. Furthermore, you can marvel at Canarian crafts and structures made from natural resources.

  • 5

Picturesque Walk: Immerse yourself in a journey through one of Gran Canaria’s narrowest ravines. The mark of water’s erosion that once coursed here paints landscapes that are truly breathtaking. A quaint yet captivating walk through history and nature awaits.

  • 6

Conclude your day with a refreshing swim. Depending on the day’s traffic and overall pacing, the guide decides between Tufia or Arinaga. Tufia: End your day with a rejuvenating swim in the fishing village of Tufia, which offers a beach with black volcanic sand. Here, you can explore coastal caves and experience the magic of the clear waters. Arinaga: Alternatively, we might visit Arinaga, a scenic coastal town. Although it lacks the black sandy beaches of Tufia, it provides beautiful spots for a refreshing swim. Enjoy its picturesque seafront promenade and soak in the natural beauty.
