What you'll do
We don't believe in "cookie-cutter" experiences and neither should you! Every tour we give is never the same because it is based on YOU and what you're curious about trying. Our Cheese, Wine and Bread tour introduces you to the "holy trinity" of France. We begin by visiting one of the oldest bakeries in Bordeaux that uses an oven built in 1765. (Imagine an oven older than the United States!) Guests will see the oven first-hand before sampling pain Gascon and other specialties. From there we visit an artisanal cheese shop to discover the fascinating and sometimes daunting world of French cheeses. You'll learn about seasonality, production, and answer questions like "When do you eat the rind?" Your group will select cheeses together before heading to a wine shop with over 600 references. You'll settle in for a detailed discussion and pairing where we explore Southwest wines or maybe a region you've never heard of. Portions are generous and this doubles as lunch for most people.
Itinerary
- 1The tour takes place in one of the most charming and historical areas of Bordeaux. Chartrons is known by many the world over as the wine district while offering a mix of high end food shops, gothic churches, and antique dealers.
