Itinerary

  • 1
Embark on a highly recommended full-day, small-group wine tour with a private shore excursion from the Saint Tropez cruise port. Visit some of the finest classified growth wineries that produce exceptional, flavorful wines. Meet your English-speaking driver/guide upon arrival, who will relay the itinerary and program of the day for this exclusive tour through the French Riviera. Board a premium A/C vehicle, and leave the crowds and large bus tours far behind as you make your way to the vineyards of Provence.
  • 2
Depart from the glitzy harbor of Saint Tropez to reach the Côtes de Provence wine region, where you'll find a few select wineries with the coveted status of Cru Classé. These highly esteemed wineries are distinguished by four distinct criteria: direct selling of the wines, bottling of the wine at the property, marketing of the wines only eighteen months after vinification, and the use of a name present before 1935.
  • 3
Journey to a Cru Classé winery of Côtes de Provence, nestled 190 meters (625 feet) at the foot of Notre Dame des Anges. The vineyard benefits from both the Mistral wind and the shade of the mountain range and is mainly composed of clay and schist with areas of sand and rock. Taste the local wines during a commented tasting session, with nine grape varieties, including Syrah (Shiraz), Grenache, Carignan, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • 4
Visit another winery, covering 300 hectares (740 acres), part of which constitutes part of the Cru Classé vineyards. The soil is mainly composed of clay and limestone, and the vineyard is exposed to the sea breeze, characterized by ideal conditions for growing top-quality wines. The wines produced include 85% Rosé, 10% Red Wine, and 5% White, made entirely from grapes harvested on the estate. Enjoy the stunning setting as you discover the estate and family's history and visit the cellars and gardens. Then, learn about the various steps to tasting a wine before enjoying lunch ( not included in the cost of the tour), the culinary delights of which the Provence region of France is known for.
  • 5
End the day in style with a final wine tasting at a Cru Classé Provence wine estate. The vineyard is situated just a few kilometers from Saint Tropez, perfectly spaced between the foothills of the Maure Mountain Range and the Mediterranean Sea. The location's altitude of around 450 meters (1500 feet) holds some of the highest vine stocks of Côte de Provence appellation, whereupon a guided tour of the property and its wine-making process is offered, followed by a tasting session of 4 Cru Classé Wines paired with Cheese & cold meats. If you find 3 visits and tastings too much on this full-day excursion, then choose to replace the last visit with the tour of Port Grimaud- a 50-year-old Marina designed by a visionary architect from the Alsace region who dreamt up this lakeside city.
  • 6
As the visit concludes, it will be time for you to return to your Cruise Ship in Saint Tropez, completing your distinguished St Tropez Shore Excursion.
