Upon arrival at the train station, bask in the grandeur of one of Porto's most esteemed monuments and let your gaze marvel at the traditional tiles adorning the walls, narrating the station's storied history.
- 2Embark on a remarkable train journey to Régua, where the grace and splendour of the Douro Valley landscapes unfold before your eyes. Around 11:00 am, you will arrive in Régua, renowned as the world's first demarcated wine region.
- 3From the train station, take a leisurely stroll to the quay in Régua, where you will embark on an enchanting boat ride. Setting sail for Porto at 11:30 am, prepare to be captivated by the breathtaking vistas that encompass the valleys. Embrace the untarnished beauty of nature and immerse yourself in the essence of the Douro wine regions, for there is no other way to experience such a wondrous panorama. A delectable lunch will be served on board around noon.
- 4After a leisurely lunch, as the afternoon wears on, the boat meanders its way towards the Carrapatelo Dam, boasting an impressive drop of 114 feet (35 metres). Continuing along the river, you will encounter a second barrier, known as the Crestuma-Lever Dam, with a descent of 46 feet (14 metres). Traverse these two magnificent structures and relish in the serenity of the Douro River. Marvel at the artful finesse of the landscapes and the sheer beauty of the valley, as your unforgettable cruise reaches its crescendo, finally arriving in Porto around 6 pm. Our journey concludes at the starting point, leaving us with cherished memories and invaluable photographs.
